Raising funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust, this annual seasonal festival celebrates the best of local food, drink, ales, gifts, crafts, circus skills, the biggest pumpkins grown in the UK plus an Avenue of Scarecrows. Music for all tastes to serenade both visitors, pumpkins and scarecrows in the Chapel Sessions Marquee. From Bluegrass to Blues, Ukuleles to Folk. This will be the ‘coming of age’ celebrating twenty one years of holding this family festival for the Jubilee Sailing Trust, providing much needed awareness and fundraising for the Southampton based charity that enables people of all abilities to sail on an equal basis on purpose built tall ships like the SVTenacious.
The event started as a small affair inside the Royal Victoria Chapel and grew gradually in size over the years, rather like the pumpkins which now regularly exceed the 1000lb mark on the scales. Organised entirely by Jubilee Sailing Trust volunteers along with community groups, it aims to provide a fun afternoon for all the family as the days begin to shorten and Autumn is once again on its way.
Visitors, stall holders and local businesses are encouraged to make a scarecrow for the popular Scarecrow Avenue (not a competition just a fun piece of community art.) Adults £5, Children FREE. Festival parking included.
