Saturday 29th June, 11am-4pm
A fun, free, family event to celebrate the role of the Armed Forces is being held at Royal Victoria Country Park, which was once the home of the world’s largest, purpose-built military hospital. Come and see a full-sized replica Hawker Hurricane plane, visit the Battle of Britain Exhibition Trailer and get to grips with the dicey world of WW2 bomb disposal! Visit the stalls from museums, heritage organisations, community groups and charities connected with the military or role of the hospital and join a guided walk around the site to find out about its history.
The Royal Victoria Chapel will be open and visitors can also climb the tower to enjoy the spectacular views. With a heritage bus service from Netley Train Station, musical entertainment, climbing wall, inflatables, face painting and a world food court, there really is something for all the family to enjoy! Entry is free, but normal car parking charges apply and some activities may carry an additional charge.
The Royal Victoria Chapel, Netley, has a busy calendar of summer events. Join us as an event volunteer and experience an exciting programme of theatre, music concerts, talks, comedy nights and our weekend celebration for Armed Forces Day. Visit our volunteer page for more information about joining the team. www.hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/rvchapel
