Residents encouraged to recycle this Christmas

Eastleigh Borough residents are being encouraged to recycle all they can this Christmas and are reminded that there will be some changes to collection days over the festive period. Recycling and waste collections will continue as normal up to and including 23 December and then resume on Wednesday 28 December. Collections will be a day or two later than normal until Saturday 7 January. Normal collection days will resume in week commencing Monday 9 January. Residents can also check their recycling and waste calendar or visit the Council’s website to check their festive period waste and recycling collection dates.

Cabinet Lead for Environment & Sustainability Cllr Rupert Kyrle said, "Our Borough residents are simply great recyclers. Christmas is a time when people enjoy opening presents together with a drink and seasonal food and there is much more cardboard, bottles and jars to collect. So, I encourage all our residents to join us in this challenge to recycle as much as they can this Christmas".

There will be no garden waste collections after 23 December and the service will recommence from Monday 9 January 2017.
