The Eastleigh based Arts and Landscape Architecture Consultancy ‘People Place Nature‘(PPN) has been commissioned by Eastleigh Borough Council to lead on an exciting public art project for the Bursledon, Hamble and Hound (BHH) Parish Council areas.
The first part of the commission is the creation of a ‘Vision’ document to guide the delivery of future public art wayfinding projects. The History and Heritage Wayfinding Trail, which is part funded by South Western Railway will be the first of these projects and its primary aim is to improve walking and cycling access to and from Bursledon, Hamble and Netley railway stations.
Continued involvement of the Parishes and engagement with relevant local societies and other groups is underway and we would also be grateful for the direct input of the public with help with the following:
Determine a hierarchy of routes to include existing and potential footpaths and cycleways linking the three rail stations to their respective local centres and other places of interest
Identify local features of heritage importance that should be incorporated into the projects
Generate ideas for the potential form, location and detail of waymarking, signposting and interpretation public artworks
Please come along to the following ‘drop in‘ Public workshops where interested local groups will be represented.
