Watch Eastleigh's Remembrance Service online

Eastleigh's Remembrance Day ceremony will take place online this year, due to coronavirus restrictions. Instead of the annual gathering at the war memorial in Leigh Road Recreation Ground, local people will be able to watch a pre-recorded video of the Remembrance service and wreath-laying. The service will go live at 10.55am on Sunday 8 November as we commemorate and honour those who have served and sacrificed. The two minute silence is included in our online service. The service is led by the Mayor's Chaplain and the Royal British legion Padre Reverend Iain McFarlane and includes Mayor, Councillor Darshan Mann, the local branch of the Royal British Legion together with representatives of local groups and organisations and key members of the armed forces community. You can watch the service on our YouTube channel or you can watch it on our Facebook page and for both channels you can set a reminder. The service will broadcast at 10.55am on Sunday 8 November and will run for around 13 minutes.

The Council’s Armed Forces Champion Cllr Tina Campbell said, "This online video will give residents the opportunity to watch our remembrance service from the safety of their own homes as we all remember and honour those who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom."

The video, which was filmed in advance in a COVID-secure way, will also be available to watch after the service.
