7 July. 7pm. RVCP Chapel.
A Sunday sojourn to the Royal Victoria Chapel, Netley sees the return of the first ever Chapel Sessions artist singer songwriter Nell Bryden who performed in the Chapel back in 2013. New York born Nell, now resident in the UK has also worked for BBC Radio Two with two series of her own music programmes featuring different artists of numerous genres with roots in the US who have influenced her over the years.
Nell has gone back to her roots and followed the traditional sonic footsteps of her idols Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Carole King. Having just recorded an album of all new songs at Ray Davies Konk Studios in London, Nell’s new EP is called “Soundtrack to Little Wing - Part 1,” which is a reference to Nell’s soon to be released debut novel, for which this music is a companion album. In her return to Chapel Sessions you can expect a soulful, heartfelt performance from New Yorker Nell and her band.
