Thefts From Motor Vehicles
A message from Hampshire Constabulary
Good Morning, Recently we have had a series of thefts from motor vehicles in the area in which you live. Thieves have been targeting vans and have stolen tools as well as sat navs. Please remember:
When leaving your vehicle, close all windows and lock it.
Upon locking your vehicle try your car door to ensure it is actually locked.
Park your car/van in an attended car park.
Look for public car parks approved by the Park Mark scheme.
When parking at home, use your garage. If you don't have a garage, park in a well-lit area.
Don't leave anything on display in your vehicle.
Take all your personal possessions with you.
Remove sat nav holders and visible sat nav ring marks from windscreens.
Leave the glove box open to show there's nothing inside.
Fit an alarm or immobiliser to your car.
Record the details of your property on the Immobilise website (see right).
Do not store your vehicle's documents in the car.
Secure your wheels using locking wheel nuts.
Consider fitting an alarm.
Please be extra vigilant when out shopping over the Christmas period and leaving your vehicle unattended. Many people return to their car to leave presents in the boot while they continue to shop. Please bear this in mind and follow the advice given above. Have a wonderful and safe Christmas, Kind regards, PCSO 16301 Rachel BARRY Netley and Bursledon Neighbourhood Team Hedge End Police Station, St Johns Road, Hedge End, Hampshire, SO30 4AF External: 101 Internal: 732-234 Email:email@example.com Website:www.hampshire.police.uk Twitter: @eastleighpolice
