Hamble River Raid

18 May 2019

The Hamble River Raid was created to raise funds for the Hamble Sea Scouts and subsequently grown to be an annual major spectacle uniting the local community and those from further afield in healthy fun on the River Hamble.

Over the years we have been supported by many inspiring members of our community who have started the race and helped to run the event. The event has evolved with computers and GPS to enhance the time keeping and a loud speaker system to keep spectators and competitors informed. This year a new time keeping system will be used to provide faster results.

A hog roast and refreshments will be available for all and we continue to have the support of brewer Hall & Woodhouse.

In addition to Row boats we welcome a mix of paddlers or rowers such as OC6’s, (six man outrigger canoes), stand up paddlers and fleet of Kayaks and Canoes. Check www.hambleriverraid.org for details.

The River Raid could not happen without the support of friends, parents and Scouts, the Hamble Parish Council and River Hamble Harbour master and of course competitors. Thank you all for taking part and making it the success it is.
