Get your 2022 Bursledon Windmill Calendar now!

Bursledon Windmill is surrounded by an amazing community and is cherished by everyone who visits. Although the sails have currently been removed for repair, the windmill team wanted to celebrate the windmill and the area in which it looks over.

In October, the Windmill hosted it’s very first photography competition, asking the local community to submit their favourite photographs of Bursledon, Hamble-le-Rice and Hound to be in for the chance of having their work printed in the Bursledon Windmill Calendar 2022, as well as displayed in an online exhibition on Hampshire Cultural Trusts Culture On Call website. Submissions allowed people to enter up to five photographs, with an independent panel of judges selecting the winning entries. There were some wonderful photographs of both the windmill and of the local area, with submissions varying in all skills and from all ages.

To select the winning photographs, the windmill team asked local creative businesses to put their expertise to the test, with representatives from Neck of the Woods Films, Adrian Hunt Graphic Design and Scene Media very kindly providing their support.

On Friday 22 October the final 12 winners were announced, with one lucky winner also being selected for the front cover image. If you would like to see all of the 13 winning photographs, please visit Bursledon Windmill’s Facebook and Twitter pages using #KeepOurSailsTurning.

The Bursledon Windmill Calendar 2022 is on sale now, with all profits going directly towards the windmill’s Keep Our Sails Turning fundraising campaign, which is raising funds to repair the sails so that the windmill can get back into working order. Click on the link below to get your copy:
